Environmental Permitting: Petrol Vapour Recovery Stage II
The PVRII Directive 2009/126/EC came into force on 1 January 2012. The directive does not affect the requirements to install PVRII. All new installations with a throughput of greater than 500m3 must be compliant with PVRII (or 100m3 for those situated under permanent living quarters or working areas). Existing service stations must be equipped with PVRII if they undergo major refurbishment. All installations with a throughput greater than 3500m3 must now be compliant with PVRII and all installations with a throughput greater than 3000m3 must be compliant with PVRII by 31 December 2018. The standards contained within the directive are the same as those in PG1/14(06) for existing PVRII. Any service station with PVRII must have a sign or sticker on, or in the vicinity of, the petrol dispenser, stating PVRII installed.
