Review of planning guidance, including PPG24 on noise
The Government has announced that Lord Taylor of Goss Moor is to lead and chair an external group conducting a review of the existing 6,000 pages of planning practice guidance which supports the implementation of national planning policy, and which the Department for Communities and Local Government owns or has jointly badged with other Government Departments or agencies. The aim is to enable the production of an accessible and more effective set of practice guidance, dramatically reducing the existing guidance, and ensuring that new guidance supports effective planning.
This will include the implications of the cancellation of PPG 24: Planning & Noise (1994) by the National Planning Policy Framework (2012).
