PHE Chief to Give Keynote Address at Public Health Conference
p>Public Health England Chief Executive, Duncan Selbie, will give the keynote address at the first Hertfordshire Public Health Conference taking place at the Salvation House Conference Centre in Welwyn Garden City on 4th December. Mr Selbie has wide experience of healthcare having spent over 30 years working within the NHS, before his appointment to lead Public Health England in July 2012. He is the first of the headline speakers confirmed to attend the ground breaking event which is the idea of Director of Public Health, Jim McManus, and Hertfordshire County Council Executive Member for Public Health and Localism Councillor, Teresa Heritage.
Mr McManus said; ?the idea is to get Public Health professionals from across Hertfordshire together under one roof so that we all realise how much we have in common and how we can move Public Health forward as one big team.? Up to 300 delegates are expected to attend the event which is being jointly organised with RH Environmental and is initially open to all Public Health professionals and partner organisations within Hertfordshire, free of charge. If any places remain then professionals from other areas will be able to register for a fee of ?50 from 29th October onwards. A Twitter feed using the #HertsPublicHealth has been setup so that anyone interested can follow the latest news about the event, and further announcements on headline speakers will be made shortly.
