Public Health Conference Resources Made Available Online
Resources from last week?s successful Hertfordshire Public Health Conference are now available online at?www.hertspublichealth.co.uk. The event, which was the brainchild of Director of Public Health Jim McManus, attracted nearly 300 stakeholders to Welwyn Garden City to witness the launch of Hertfordshire?s first Public Health Strategy. Duncan Selbie, Chief Executive Officer at Public Health England, provided the keynote address, while prominent health psychologist Dr Falko Sniehotta from Newcastle University gave an hour-long masterclass on behaviour change.
Talking after the event, which was co-organised by RH Environmental, Mr McManus said, ?Without doubt we did something special last week and I?m very grateful and proud to be working with such a great team.?
Nearly 200 tweets plus pictures and video of the event have been collected together and can be seen at http://bit.ly/IPjXoc. RHE Associate Pete Hill, who worked on the coverage, was delighted with the results: ?There was a good range of messages with many people following events online via Twitter. Even a year ago that certainly wouldn?t have happened ? social media definitely adds to the quality of this type of event.?
The main themes of the day were captured by creative facilitator Laura Broderick, whose artwork is being made available along with PowerPoint presentations of the sessions in the Delegate Resources area of the website. Extra video highlights can be viewed on the Hertfordshire County Council YouTube channel.
