New Planning Module Launched on RIAMS

January 6, 2014
Planning

Existing subscribers to RIAMS can now access a new Planning module which consolidates some existing documents previously found under Administration and Housing as well as adding National Planning Guidance. There are two new procedures covering Breach of Condition Notices and Guidance Note Breach of Conditions with versions for authorities in England and Wales.

National Planning Guidance has been subject to extensive changes in the last couple of years. The National Planning Policy Framework that was published on 27th March 2012 replaced 25 existing Planning Policy Statements including those dealing with pollution control, noise and climate change. In order to support the new policy framework redrafted National Planning Practice Guidance was subject to beta testing and comment between August and October last year. The Secretary of State is currently considering responses made during the beta testing period prior to issuing the final documents which will include guidance on, environmental quality, (noise, air, land, light pollution, water and water supply), local green space designation, the duty to cooperate, viability, and neighbourhood planning.
