This case concerned improvements made to a mid-terrace, 1920’s property; an Improvement Notice had been served regarding several hazards identified at the property. The work was to be completed within a specified time frame, although they had not begun when the property was inspected after the deadline had passed.
Upon completed of the work, the applicant complained that the work was ‘shoddy’ and refused to pay the bill of over £6,000 owed to the local housing association; the property was subsequently inspected by the tribunal.
The tribunal reduced the amount owed because it had not been done properly and ordered the Respondent to pay the applicants costs.
