The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) has appointed Anne Godfrey as its new Chief Executive. The former head of the Chartered Institute of Marketing will take up her new post on 1 January, when Graham Jukes OBE stands down after 16 years in the job.

Since graduating from the University of Glasgow with a master’s degree in English, Ms Godfrey has worked for a number of membership organization’s including the Law Society, where she was Commercial and Membership Director and the Guild of Travel Management Companies (GTMC). Despite her lack of experience in environmental health, CIEH President Tim Everett is confident that Ms Godfrey is the ideal candidate for the job.

“We are extremely pleased to announce that Anne will be joining us in January 2016 as our new Chief Executive following Graham’s decision to step down earlier this year, she is the right strategic fit for the organisation at this time of change,” He said. “Anne is looking forward to working with the CIEH’s Presidential Team to ensure that we continue to advance the professional agenda and engage fully with our members and key stakeholders.”

A further change will see Mr Jukes, who first joined the CIEH in 1988 as Director of Professional Services, stand down in May take up a new role as Vice President in 2016.
