Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council recently reported that they had successfully used The Noise App to secure “a guilty plea from a hobby dog breeder who was accused of breaching a noise abatement notice for consistent barking and howling.”

The Noise App supplemented their investigation and received over 100 recordings from residents between February and June 2017.

The council handle over 300 complaints about barking each year, making it one of the most frequently experienced issues by residents.

Cllr. Ann Beech, Cabinet member for operational services, said: “This is the third time that the app has been used in legal proceedings. It’s a brilliant piece of technology which can improve the response time to most complaints and provide a quicker resolution. The beauty of it is that it can be used 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.”
