Showcasing Sustainable Regulatory Services – Find out more at CTSI Symposium 2018
On 4 – 6 June, Nigel Strick, Business Regulatory Support at Cornwall Council, will be attending the CTSI Symposium 2018 and will be discussing the Sustainable Regulatory Solutions (SRS) during one of the two plenary sessions, entitled The Value of Trading Standards.
The SRS was created with Cornwall Council in collaboration with other councils, and is hosted on RIAMS for seamless integration. This model and toolkit is aimed at helping you maintain and improve service delivery on your road to commercialisation while also supporting business, encouraging compliance and helping businesses ‘get it right, first time’.
The SRS framework encourages local authorities to introduce income generation initiatives therefore allowing local authorities to do and provide more, with a lesser impact on already limited resources and funding. It will also help you develop a cost effective, prioritised and resilient sustainable delivery model.
So far, Cornwall and their Business Support service have won two awards for this innovative approach. The Better Business for All Team: Better Business for All Partnership award 2016 Winner and Business Regulatory Support Service: Better Regulations award 2017 – Winner Business Support Category.
These plenary sessions offer a fantastic opportunity for local authorities and their trading standards services to showcase achievements. So, if you’re attending this event, listen out for Nigel Strick to find out more about how the SRS could reform your service delivery.
