Work For Us
If you have an area of specialist knowledge within the sphere of environmental health, trading standards, fire safety and other regulatory service fields we want to hear from you. RIAMS is continually developing and adding resources through professionals joining the RIAMS panel. The panel is made up of over 50 authors and sub editors with expertise to help draft and maintain procedures and other content for RIAMS. We are looking for professionals who are either ‘doing the job’ or who have up to date and practical knowledge. The range of expertise we need to call upon is wide; legal enforcement, animal health, emergency planning, environmental crime, environmental protection, food safety, housing conditions, licensing, port health, pest control and public health.
The work is well paid and flexible. In addition authors can claim their time spent developing resources for RIAMS as CPD and their time spent on the system is monitored with the facility to download a CPD certificate for your time (actively) using it. Panel members find the work rewarding because they are adding value and sharing their expertise within a nationally utilised system. Work is mutually agreed before hand to ensure it is achievable based around existing commitments. We also pay a bonus incentive for all work completed within the agreed deadlines.
If you are employed, for example by a local authority, the work can be completed at home. If you are interested, please email your current CV to: email@example.com. Please state in the covering email:
- The area of expertise for which you wish to be considered.
- Your current working arrangements and realistic weekly time availability to take on commissioned work. Typical commissions will take up to 4 hours/week which can be flexible and will vary from month to month.
